Sony has recently introduced a handheld called Project Q. Because it supports the Android operating system, cloud gaming will likely make its way onto this Android handheld! Stay tuned to Arium for our review of Sony’s drive toward cloud gaming!

Is Sony going to embed cloud gaming on its Project Q handheld?

Sony is testing cloud gaming on the PS5. Eventually, it is expected to debut cloud gaming games on Project Q. Although it would be strange if it went for cloud gaming despite its pricey hardware, Sony is likely to incorporate cloud gaming into Project Q. This is because this corporation is currently working on its cloud gaming, as evidenced by the job ads. However, since this handheld will be released in November, cloud gaming on Project Q is unlikely.

Sony has a long way to go when it comes to cloud gaming!

Despite being one of the investors in cloud gaming technologies, Sony has yet to achieve success in this sector. This corporation spent 380 million dollars for the Gaikai platform in 2012 to launch PlayStation Now. However, it appears it has yet to determine what it will do with this technology. The reality is that cloud technology is incompatible with Sony’s business model, culture, and values. Sony is a giant in the entertainment business with the mindset of an electronic consumables manufacturer. Even most people in critical roles at Sony are either engineers who are experts at developing gadgets and gear or marketers (such as PlayStation’s Head, Jim Ryan), who just put those gadgets in boxes and sell them. As a result, we believe Sony has a long way to go before it can succeed in cloud gaming.

We are exploring the reasons behind Sony’s struggle in the cloud gaming industry!

The following are some of the reasons why Sony has not been successful in the recently emerged cloud gaming industry:

1. Business strategy: As previously stated, Sony’s business strategy is incompatible with cloud gaming. As a result, it may be unable to compete with its competitors or meet market demands.

2. High Level of Competition: Cloud gaming is a competitive market, with large companies like Microsoft playing a part. As a result, Sony may need help competing with such enterprises.

3. Technical obstacles: Cloud gaming has several technical issues. Latency, the necessity for a solid internet connection, and security concerns can all impact the functionality of cloud gaming services.

4. Time: Cloud gaming is still in its infancy, and the necessary technologies are still being developed. Sony may be unable to flourish in this field as long as these new technologies are not developed.

Weaknesses that became strengths!

Overall, Sony is likely on its approach to determining its strategy, learning, and development in this field, and it is expected to succeed in cloud gaming. On the other hand, Sony’s knowledge and resources in the gaming and entertainment industries allow it to advance. This company can use its expertise and knowledge in creating gaming gadgets and hardware to achieve a stronger market position by providing better and more thrilling experiences in cloud gaming services.
