Revolution means transformation. It is a remarkable transformation that anyone can look at before and after it and shout with complete determination: Yes, history at this point is not similar to the past. At some point in the game’s history, these revolutions took place. Games are the fastest-growing entertainment industry from a financial point of view and have the highest technological advancements of any field. Let’s find the revolutionary parts of the video game industry.

The history of the game begins.

It all started with a dot and two lines, which its creators named “Pong.” After Pong, the concept of “video game” was created. Pong was a two-dimensional sports game that simulated table tennis. The player controlled an in-game paddle by moving it vertically across the left or right side of the screen. Another player competed by controlling a second paddle on the opposing side. Players used the paddles to hit a ball back and forth. The goal was for each player to reach eleven points before the opponent.

Tetris expands the foundation of games.

Tetris also has a simple rule that quickly dictates to you: fill the empty spaces with the least number of bricks. However, unlike Pong, Tetris allows the gamer to do this differently. There is only one condition to win, but there are many ways to achieve that. The game’s objective is to use the pieces to create as many complete horizontal lines of blocks as possible. When a line is completed, it disappears, and the blocks placed above fall one rank.

It was the first time gamers could ask themselves questions and look for answers. The first whispers of “engagement” were raised. On the way to find the answer, everything could change. Change was possible, and the first-generation gamers welcomed it.

Character and story enter the game revolution era.

Super Mario is the spiritual father of all story and adventure games. The multiple scenarios of Tetris and the winning bet of Pong in Mario found their infinite meaning. Gamers who wanted to experience Super Mario Bros. soon felt a meaningful human connection. The pixels behind the screen felt as much like movie characters for the first time.

The numerous Tetris scenarios we mentioned, in the form of Super Mario, made in 1985, surprisingly reached from one phase to another. The cute plumber of the gaming world taught us that scenarios can be different and have a logical meaning. There was a princess in danger and a character who felt obligated to help.

Realistic graphics, natural composition, and ambition

Mario 64 becoming “3D” is as big a revolution itself. If the games had their world before and after becoming 3D, they also conquered our world. We had to share our beloved world with a handful of our creatures. Yet, one big problem was that the games weren’t from our world. More realistic graphics turned games into new artifacts of our kind. Doom is an excellent example of this change.

The world is yours, but for how long?

Then, there was an attractive situation and context for the emergence of an open-world game that no one took very seriously. Still, when Grand Theft Auto 3 came along, everyone was forced to take it seriously. Everyone knew that the ambition of the Games had reached perfection. Analysts were waiting for this new genre (more precisely, mechanics) to bring about other developments and a new revolution soon.

The world will remain for you forever.

But the real fear was hidden somewhere near in 2009. Minecraft is considered a scary event that rose from the grave and descended upon us as a devastating disaster.

Minecraft showed how naive we are in our assessments. One morning, we suddenly realized that the games are a big world that will create bigger worlds regardless of us.

The joy of fantasizing about something that doesn’t exist but could be real. A journey to emotions we have never felt. Stepping on compounds that science is unable to analyze. Hearing stories told not by adults but by children — discoveries that occur with a power beyond our reach but within our creation and for ourselves.

Cloud gaming is the revolution of our era.

Keep in mind that Games can be a revolution of revolutions. How will the next revolution of this industry be? Artificial intelligence and thousands of other concepts embodied in the heart of games will pave their way. Cloud gaming is the recent revolution in the gaming industry. Now, there is no need for advanced systems or gaming consoles to play games; gamers can enjoy their favorite titles on their phones.
