Fighting has always been our favorite childhood video game. Tekken, for us, growing up playing Mortal Kombat day and night, looked like Mortal Kombat’s Asian brother, whenever it wasn’t mortal, it was Tekken. So, if you want to take back your childhood, don’t miss our latest Tekken 7 review.

Tekken 7 story: The father and the son

Tekken 7 includes a main story and a sub-story. In the main story, the events happen in three branches, and finally, they are aligned and summed up well. In the story mode, we have the chance to get to know the characters and the reason behind their actions better. Our narrator is a reporter who begins to investigate Mishima Zaibatsu and G Company and wants to find out the reason behind the destruction of his hometown.

On the one hand, Kazuya plans to kill Heihachi and take his mother’s revenge. On the other hand, we have Akuma promised Kazumi to kill Heihachi. Now, while they are seeking revenge, the Tekken Force team plans to find Jin Kazama and bring him back to the Mishima Zaibatsu. The multi-layered story is the strength of Tekken 7. You don’t want to skip the story; it is important to you. You are not only there to fight; you want to take back what was taken from you. This is Tekken’s strong point compared to Mortal Kombat.

Tekken 7 Gameplay

After all the father and son stories, we are here to fight, and what we need is a great fighting system. Tekken 7 has beautifully combined classic and modern fighting styles. The classic combos, the style of the hits, and the character movements are all reminiscent of the previous versions, renewed in the latest version. Rage Arts are special combos that you can use. When your health bar becomes critical, a red halo will appear around you, indicating the activation of Rage Art. Now you can fight as hard as you can with proper buttons. Also, with Power Crush you can hit your opponent while you are being hit. The slow-motion feature from the sixth version is back to give you a cinematic gameplay experience.

The mixture of all these fighting abilities and having almost 36 characters to experience, doesn’t make you get bored or tired to spend 20 hours to finish it (if you strive to see all aspects of the game). The game customization is also updated, and you have a wide range of choices.

Tekken 7 Graphics and Music

The balance between modern and classic terms is visible in the graphics too because of using an unreal engine 4 graphics motor. Sometimes you will face frame drops which is annoying. The music choices are fine, and the sound effects add more excitement to the fights. The voiceovers are of high quality and beautiful, and most importantly, they look very real.

Tekken 7 a yay or a nay?

Tekken 7 While maintaining its originality, has been able to make beautiful innovations in the gameplay and graphics, which are worthy of special attention. Perhaps the presence of numerous combos makes you think that the designers put every fighting style they could into the game and intended to mess up the gameplay. But it is not. As you go on, you will realize that the combat system is more complicated than you thought.
